Liza's June Update

Remember back in March when we shared photos from Liza's winter expeditions at the Watkins Glen Farm Sanctuary location? Well, it's definitely summer now, and we are loving how happy our pig friend looks out in the green pastures!

Liza still spends a lot of time with her sister and BFF Maggie, and they are happy as can be rooting around, napping in the barn, or taking a mud bath.

Did you know that pigs can get sunburn? Their skin is very sensitive, and they have only a thin layer of coarse hair. So one of the Farm Sanctuary volunteers spends time putting sunscreen on the pigs on the sunny days to help protect them.

Also, pigs don't sweat which is the main reason they love to take mud baths - because the mud helps keep them cool.

Seeing happy piggies makes us so happy, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

You can sponsor an animal at Farm Sanctuary, too! Click here to learn more.

Thank you to our friends at Farm Sanctuary for helping us out with the photos and updates, and check back soon for Richard's July update.

I see the pigs in the mud…I want to wallow with them. They make it look fun!
