      We're opening a Farm Sanctuary!

On January 22, 2017, at our one year anniversary party we announced that we plan to open a farm sanctuary called Herbivorous Acres! Co-founders Aubry Walch and Marie DuCharme share a love for animals and aspire to make more positive changes for animals.

Herbivorous Acres will focus initially on fundraising through donations, along with seeking out land. The sanctuary will ideally have approximately one hundred acres and be located in Minnesota. The sanctuary will not only provide a safe haven for neglected and abused farm animals, but will offer tiny houses for weekend rental, vegan cooking classes, yoga classes with the animals, vegan dinners on the farm, and more. Other goals include offering a CSA as well as constructing a humane education center.

Please donate and learn more on our website: herbivorousacres.org

      Liza's October Update

Watkins Glen, NY, is well into fall, but there's still plenty of sunshine for Liza Pig to enjoy. She and her sister Maggie spend their days rooting around in the pig pasture and napping. This cute piggy has got it made!

Since the sun sets earlier, making the evenings cool, Liza and Maggie tuck in earlier than they did in the summer and like to snuggle up with Truffles, the herd matriarch.

Did you know that it's common for pigs to retain strong familial ties? So it's not at all unusual that Liza and Maggie spend so much time together.

      Richard's July Update

Sir Richard would like to wish you all a happy July! He and his friend Marlon are enjoying some new digs at the Watkins Glen Farm Sanctuary location, and they couldn't be more happy that summer is in full swing.

The last time we checked in with Richard, the snow had only just begun to melt. Now they have new neighbors at their new barn, and a new area to explore for bugs! Chickens make for excellent pest control since they love finding grubs and bugs in the dirt to enjoy as a tasty treat.

Richard is such a handsome Jersey Giant, and we're thrilled that he can live out his life feeling happy and safe.
