BRAT Problems?: What else you can do with all those brats!

Happy Friday friends!

I have so much to say about all the different sausages that we carry here at The Herbivorous Butcher. We basically have a sausage for every occasion whether it's Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Nonna's birthday, and even that Korean ramen that you're making for your best friend this weekend! This is our spring/summer lineup!

Here's a breakdown of all the brats we carry in-store and online and what the heck you can do with them other than putting them in a bun!

Jalapeño Cheddar Brats:

  • Slice 'em or dice 'em up and throw in a JUST egg or tofu scramble
  • Pan-fry them and add them to a mac and cheese
  • Surprisingly delicious when added to a packet ramen like Maggi noodles
  • Slice them and cook them with some broccoli and cheese for a tasty baked potato topping

Italian Sausage Brats:

  • Sliced, food processed, or rough chopped and into any kind of pasta dish whether it's with pesto, red sauce, or even just with some garlic, olive oil, and basil
  • Lasagna!
  • Added to a tomato based soup like minestrone or tomato basil
  • Pan-fry and use as a salad topping with arugula, pine nuts, Kalamata olives, and sun dried tomatoes
  • Pizza!

Kimchi Brats:

  • Add these guys to a spicy sesame ramen
  • Pan-fry and add to a noodle dish like Japchae
  • Rough chopped and added to mashed avocado for a protein boost to your avocado toast-- don't forget to top it with toasted sesame seeds

Beer Brats:

  • A great addition to your favorite comfort food the trusty buttered noodles
  • Add these beer bombs to the baked beans you're having on your camping trip this weekend
  • Three words: Onions, potatoes, cheese

Bacon Brats:

  • In that cheesy breakfast casserole your kids love so much
  • Rough chopped and pan-fried as a mashed potato topping
  • A great smoky add to you mom's scalloped potatoes recipe
  • Dipped in pancake batter and deep-fried

Sriracha Brats:

  • Pan-fried and added to literally ANY Asian noodle dish
  • Sliced up in a quesadilla with some scallions and extra Sriracha sauce
  • In chunks and on a cocktail skewer with a teeny pickle and fresh pineapple
  • Rough chopped and pan-fried on top of nachos

Curry Brats:

  • OMG in an Indian curry of course
  • Pan-fry with some hot peppers, shredded carrots, scallions and JUST Egg and throw it all on a toasted hoagie
  • Diced up in a creamy curry pasta salad

See?! Brats are SOOOOOOO versatile so toss those buns aside and do something fun with your snausages!
