We’re Hiring: Part-Time Front of House Team Member 🌱

The Herbivorous Butcher is looking for a friendly, dependable, and curious person to join our Front of House team!

We’re a small, collaborative crew, so we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with customers, asking questions, learning about our products, and pitching in wherever needed.

Pay and schedule

This position pays $17 per hour plus tips and currently offers approximately 13–14 scheduled hours per week:

  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11:00 a.m.–approximately 4:30 or 5:00 p.m., depending on closing needs

Availability for both Saturday and Sunday is required.

Additional Friday or weekday shifts may occasionally become available during the busy holiday season or when other team members request time off. These additional hours are not guaranteed.

We want to be completely upfront about the limited schedule. This position may be a great fit for someone looking for steady weekend work alongside another job, school, creative projects, or other commitments. We also hope to find someone who wants to stay with us and become a lasting part of our team.

What you’ll do

  • Welcome customers and help them learn about our products
  • Answer questions and offer cooking or serving suggestions
  • Weigh, vacuum seal, label, and stock products
  • Fulfill in-store pickup and delivery orders
  • Count inventory and update quantities in Square
  • Help manage orders and product availability on DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats
  • Keep the shop, displays, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
  • Assist with weekly specials and other food-preparation projects
  • Answer incoming phone calls when available and ask for help when you don’t know the answer
  • Support your teammates and help wherever needed

You do not need to be vegan, but you should be interested in learning about our products and comfortable representing a plant-based business.
