      We're opening a Farm Sanctuary!

      On January 22, 2017, at our one year anniversary party we announced that we plan to open a farm sanctuary called Herbivorous Acres! Co-founders Aubry Walch and Marie DuCharme share a love for animals and aspire to make more positive changes for animals.  


      Herbivorous Acres will focus initially on fundraising through donations, along with seeking out land. The sanctuary will ideally have approximately one hundred acres and be located in Minnesota. The sanctuary will not only provide a safe haven for neglected and abused farm animals, but will offer tiny houses for weekend rental, vegan cooking classes, yoga classes with the animals, vegan dinners on the farm, and more. Other goals include offering a CSA as well as constructing a humane education center.

      One Year Anniversary Celebration

      The Herbivorous Butcher celebrates one year at its brick and mortar location on January 23, 2017. The means we need to have a party! 

      In 2016, we were featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives with praise from Guy Fieri, and we shared our food with other celebrities including Paul McCartney, Weird Al Yankovic, Moby, Alan Cumming and more. USA Today readers chose us as a 10Best Food & Drink Maker, and VegNews Magazine awarded us Media Darlings of the Year.

      Please join us at LUSH on Sunday, January 22 from 5-8:30pm. The party is free and all ages are welcome. We'll provide 6-foot party subs to snack on, but you can also purchase food from LUSH who will debut the addition of our products to their menu! 21+ guests can enjoy Herbivorous Butcher-themed drinks as well.

      Mini Pizza Bagels

      INGREDIENTS
      Vegan mozzarella, shredded
      Vegan pepperoni, finely cubed
      Vegan mini bagels
      1 tbsp olive oil
      Pizza sauce
      Italian seasoning (optional)

      DIRECTIONS
      Separate mini bagels and place on a baking sheet. Brush bagels with olive oil. Cover bagel halves with pizza sauce, then vegan mozzarella, then pepperoni bits. Finish with Italian seasoning.

      Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
